Au nombre de six, ses recommandations plaident notamment pour davantage de cohérence des politiques climatiques et de transition énergétique et des moyens supplémentaires. Une analyse au diapason avec celle du Haut Conseil pour le climat (HCC), dont le premier rapport annuel, publié en juin 2019, invitait la France à renforcer ses actions pour réduire ses émissions de gaz à effet de serre au regard de l’objectif de neutralité carbone en 2050, et à rectifier les dérapages actuels, en particulier dans les secteurs des transports et du bâtiment.

Pets: Americans Spent $56 Billion Last Year on Dogs, Cats and More

Keeping Fido happy ain’t cheap. Americans spent a record $55.7 billion on their pets last year, an industry trade group said Thursday, a figure that could increase to a whopping $60 billion this year. The amount Americans shelled out for puppy chow, cat litter, toys, grooming and all matter of indulgences last year is equivalent to the gross domestic product of Croatia, and $10 billion more than Germany’s entire defense budget.

Atomic Bomb Expert Weighs in on Oppenheimer

The summer’s most popular history-related film is Christopher Nolan’s blockbuster Oppenheimer, about the theoretical physicist and atomic bomb mastermind J. Robert Oppenheimer. The movie comes 78 years after the U.S. dropped two atomic bombs on the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki on August 6 and 9, respectively, killing an estimated more than 200,000 people. On August 15, 1945, Japanese Emperor Hirohito announced Japan’s surrender, and the document was formally signed on September 2, 1945.

Jean-Louis Fargeas, préfet de la Manche, et Philippe Lebresne, vice-président du syndicat mixte Manche numérique, ont signé, le 20 mars 2007 à Saint-Lô, une convention pour la mise en place d'un pôle d'excellence rurale (PER), en présence de Jean-François Le Grand, président du conseil général. Pour encourager l'innovation, l'Etat a lancé, fin 2005, un appel à projets national visant à labelliser plus de 300 projets de développement en milieu rural. Lors de la seconde vague de sélection, le gouvernement a labellisé, le 28 février dernier, 200 projets, dont deux manchois : Novéa, une association pour la diffusion des nouvelles technologies dans le cadre d'une maison de la formation et du développement durable de la communauté de communes de Mortain ; et le pôle de Manche numérique pour le maintien et l'amélioration des services aux publics.
