“Two to One” is one of 13 films in the running to be Germany’s entry for the best international feature film category of the Oscars.

In “Two to One,” a group of clever East Germans take advantage of the chaotic situation in East Germany in 1990 to retrieve hidden millions from an underground vault.

Hüller stars alongside Max Riemelt (“Sense 8”) and Ronald Zehrfeld (“Barbara,” “Phoenix”).

“Two to One” is produced by Row Pictures and Zischlermann Filmproduktion, in co-production with ZDF, and in cooperation with Arte and Lichtblick Film- und Fernsehproduktion.

The producers’ past credits include “Three Days in Quiberon,” “Lunchbox,” “War Sailor” and “Human Factors.”

The film is directed by Natja Brunckhorst. Her career began with the powerful performance as the lead character in the 1981 film “Christiane F.” She later moved into screenwriting, penning scripts for the television series “Einsatz Hamburg Süd” and several “Tatort” episodes. Her screenplay for “Feuer Und Flamme,” drawing from her own life, won her the German Film Award in 2001. Brunckhorst also co-wrote the children’s film “Amelie Rennt,” which received a Special Mention at the Berlinale. She moved into directing with the film “Alles In Bester Ordnung.”

Other films on The Playmaker slate include love story “Muenter & Kandinsky – The Blue Rider” and the drama “Never Alone” from Klaus Härö. Also in the lineup is creature horror “Paws,” featuring a deadly polar bear, and the family animated films “Ploey 2 – The Legend of the Winds” and “Pirate Mo – The Legend of the Red Ruby.”
