During the early ’90s, Michael Jordan was at the top of the NBA. In his seventh season in the league, MJ was already rookie of the year, an all-star, a scoring champion, defensive player of the year, and league MVP. The only accolade that eluded him was NBA champion. However, in 1991, he won his first championship with the Chicago Bulls.
And 33 years after Michael Jordan wore these sneakers in the NBA Finals against Magic Johnson and the L.A. Lakers, Nike is re-releasing the Air Jordan 6 Retro “Pearl” sneakers on Wednesday, Aug. 7 at 10 a.m. ET/7 a.m. PT.
Priced at $200, the lightweight Nike Air Jordan 6 Retro “Pearl” sneakers are designed with strong lines and tight lace locks for more support for your ankles when playing basketball or just for everyday use. The shoes are also made from a blend of synthetic and genuine leather for shape, form and toughness. They even have a transparent “Air” bubble on the forefoot and heel for extra bounce, absorption and cushioning.
Meanwhile, they also feature the iconic “Jumpman” logo on the bottom of each sole with a pair Nike logos around back at each heel. The design and silhouette are classic and quintessential to early ’90s basketball style and fashion that were just about everywhere throughout the decade. In addition, these sneakers come in a pure platinum, metallic gold, coconut milk and glacier blue colorway.
Out on Wednesday, Aug. 7 at 10 a.m. ET/7 a.m. PT, the Nike Air Jordan 6 Retro “Pearl” sneakers are unisex and come in men’s and women’s sizes for $200. Additionally, the sneakers come in sizes for little kids and toddlers & babies with prices starting at $75 per pair at nike.com.
